What Is Living Latin Online High School?
The Paideia Institute's Living Latin Online High School is a short, intensive course that uses Latin actively—as a spoken and written language—to strengthen reading, grammar, vocabulary, and engagement with Latin literature. The completed 2026 course met live on Zoom for two hours each weekday across ten small-group sessions from July 6-18. Sections were organized around student time zones and availability, making the program internationally accessible.
Applicants needed at least one year of prior Latin and enough English for grammatical discussion; complete beginners were directed to a separate course. Participation required a computer, reliable internet, headset, and webcam. Published 2026 tuition was $1,000 and became nonrefundable after the May 1 enrollment deadline, except when Paideia could not offer a section compatible with the student's availability. Full and partial need-based scholarships were available. The 2027 dates, enrollment window, price, instructor, curriculum, scholarship deadline, and section times are not yet announced.
