What Is MIT Integration Bee?
The MIT Integration Bee is an annual January calculus competition run by MIT mathematics graduate students during Independent Activities Period. Competition is open only to MIT students. The official page explicitly says people outside MIT—including high-school students—cannot compete, although everyone may spectate in person and the main event is livestreamed.
In 2026, eligible MIT students took a 20-question qualifier during any 20-minute block from 4-6 p.m. on January 20; no registration was required. The top 16 advanced to the January 21 bee. Four-person regular-season matches reduced the field to eight, followed by a seeded single-elimination playoff for the title of Grand Integrator. The official archive provides past qualifier tests, answers, round problems, results, and recordings for practice and viewing.
