What Is MyImpact Challenge?
MyImpact Challenge asks U.S. middle/high-school-age students to carry out and document a civic-engagement project in charity, government, volunteerism or entrepreneurship. Entrants may work alone or in groups of up to five. The completed 2026 cycle required a Principles and Virtues essay of up to 1,200 words, a project report of up to 2,000 words with at least two concrete examples of community impact, and photo/video documentation. Finalists completed a video interview.
The 2026 cycle is closed, but BRI has announced that 2027 submissions will begin September 11, 2026; it has not yet published the new closing date or confirmed that every rule/prize remains unchanged. Under the 2026 legal terms, eligible entrants were U.S. citizens or legal residents ages 13-19 in grades 7-12, homeschool/GED/correspondence programs, U.S. territories or Armed Forces Schools Abroad. Entrants granted BRI extensive ownership and reuse rights in the submitted materials, an important condition to review before entering.
