What Is 7 Cups Volunteer Listener?
7 Cups trains nonprofessional volunteers to provide empathetic, anonymous emotional support through online conversations. It is a rolling platform role, not a school-specific high-school program. Volunteers must be 18 or older, or at least 15 with parental consent.
Before taking conversations, a listener completes the free Active Listening course, passes its quiz, practises through a bot mock chat, and takes the listener oath. Optional continuing Academy programs, courses, badges, and certification levels can document further activity. The schedule is self-directed because listeners choose whether to accept available requests.
