Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP)

# Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) ACAP is NABA Inc.'s free summer residency for high school students who want early exposure to accounting, finance, entrepreneurship and related business careers. NABA chapters host the week-long program on more than twenty college and university campuses each summer, and pair it with year-round chapter programming and mentorship. ## What You'll Do - Live on a host campus for a week (summer 2026 sites included Howard University, Southern Methodist University, the University of North Texas, Purdue University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) - Take college-level classes in accounting, business fundamentals and financial literacy - Tour accounting firms and companies and meet practicing accountants and business leaders - Work in teams on case, resume and presentation exercises - Join NABA as a student member and stay connected to chapter events after the residency ## Who Should Apply High school students, freshmen through seniors, who are curious about accounting, finance or business - no prior coursework required. Students apply through NABA and indicate preferred host sites; selection considers the student application and counselor or teacher recommendations, and the program is aimed at giving students underrepresented in the profession early access to it. ## Outcomes According to NABA, "Tuition, housing, books, materials, and NABA student membership are fully sponsored by NABA Inc." Participants leave with a campus residency experience, a professional network of accountants and recruiters, and an on-ramp into NABA's continuing student programs and scholarships.
