# Pre-Business Program The Pre-Business Program (PBP) is Howard University School of Business's high school summer enrichment experience in Washington, DC. Students live on Howard's campus for a week and pick one track: accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, information systems, actuarial science or music business - each taught through classroom instruction, corporate site visits and team projects. ## What You'll Do - Choose one business track and take faculty-taught classes in it for the week - Visit Washington-area companies, agencies and firms tied to your track - Build and present a group project to faculty, industry guests and classmates - Live in a Howard residence hall with a structured, supervised schedule - Close the week at the program's graduation gala ## Who Should Apply Current high school sophomores and juniors who want a serious first look at a business major before applying to college. Students select a single one-week session; summer 2026 ran Session 1 July 18-24 and Session 2 July 25-31. Applicants submit the program's online application, and admitted students arrange their own travel to and from campus. ## Outcomes Tuition is $2,000 and covers housing, meals, instruction, site visits and the closing gala; the accounting track is offered free of charge through Howard's partnership with NABA and Bert Smith & Co., and need-based scholarships are available for the other tracks. Participants leave with a college-level introduction to their track, a cohort of peers and direct exposure to Howard's business faculty.
