What Is Nazarene Youth Bible Quizzing?

Nazarene Youth Bible Quizzing is an ongoing Church of the Nazarene ministry built around sustained study of a designated Bible text, team practice, mentoring, fellowship, discipleship, and optional competition. The 2026-27 youth/teen season studies the Gospel of John. Exodus belongs to the separate Kids Bible Quizzing program for ages 5-12 and must not be copied into this youth record. English-language youth materials and questions use the 2011 NIV.

Most teams have four or five members, with four quizzers and one substitute in a round, plus an adult coach. A quizmaster reads questions; content, score, and jump officials support the round. A standard set has 20 toss-ups using formats such as general, according-to, situation, book-and-chapter, quotation or finish-the-verse, and context. Correct toss-ups and bonuses earn points, while defined errors, fouls, and unsuccessful challenges can lose points. Competition is explicitly secondary to Bible study, Christlike character, community, and applying Scripture to life.
