What Is NFMC Federation Festivals Program?
NFMC Festivals let Junior member musicians age 18 or younger—and Adult members—perform selected repertoire and receive a yearly adjudicated evaluation. NFMC explicitly describes Festivals as noncompetitive and open to musicians of all abilities. Continued participation can lead to Festival Cup awards and honor certificates. Event offerings may include solo and ensemble performance, theory, dance, improvisation, and accommodations for specially capable musicians under the current Bulletin and local-area program.
This is a national framework delivered through state and local Festival areas, not one national high-school competition. An authorized teacher and local administrator use NFMC's Vivace system to register students, verify Bulletin rules, invoice fees, schedule performances, and report ratings. Membership dues, event fees, dates, deadlines, locations, repertoire, instruments, and local policies vary.
