What Is Vail Jazz Workshop?

Vail Jazz Workshop brought a twelve-musician cohort together August 29-September 6, 2026 for intensive combos, improvisation, by-ear learning and festival performances. Eligible instruments were piano, bass, drums, trumpet, trombone and saxophone. The April 30 application and audition deadline is closed.

The historical route served North American permanent residents ages 15-19 with the stated high-school, homeschool or recent-graduate standing, excluding full-time postsecondary students and prior participants. The age reference differs between August 30 on the page and the first programme day in the instructions. Full attendance was required, with host-family housing; dietary restrictions were not guaranteed.
