What Is ACTR Olympiada of Spoken Russian?
The Olympiada is ACTR's oldest secondary-school activity and gives middle- and high-school Russian students a regionally organized forum for conversation, recitation, prepared-text work, and Russian-culture knowledge at appropriate study levels. Regional chairs may adjust procedures and dates, and some regions may cancel in a given year.
Students do not self-register nationally: a current ACTR member, usually the Russian teacher, registers them through the state or regional organizer. The national fee is $6 per student, with possible additional school fees in some regions. Payment is nonrefundable after registration, and medals/certificates are withheld until national fees are received. No single 2026–27 national deadline is published on the current page.
