What Is National French Contest / Le Grand Concours?
Le Grand Concours is AATF's annual online French-language contest for students in grades 1-12 in all 50 U.S. states and abroad. Grades 1-6 take the FLES Contest; grades 7-12 take Secondary Levels 01-5. Students compete only against peers with comparable course level and prior French background.
The contest is delivered through Lingco and contains timed multiple-choice listening and reading components. FLES testing is scheduled for February 10-March 12, 2027; Secondary testing for February 11-April 9, 2027. A teacher normally registers and proctors students, but homeschool students may participate with an approved neutral proctor. Approved live remote proctoring is possible.
