What Is Seminar for Top Engineering Prospects (STEP)?
STEP is Purdue Engineering Honors' one-week residential exploration program for rising high-school seniors. The completed 2026 cohort was for the Class of 2027. Three years of high-school math and one year of chemistry or physics were recommended. Applicants supplied PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores and a transcript; applications were reviewed until sessions filled, then waitlisted.
The $2,500 fee included engineering activities, air-conditioned residence-hall housing, meals, linens, laundry, and local program transportation. Students paid travel to West Lafayette. Need-based scholarships were considered only after acceptance, first come until funds were exhausted.
