# Luddy Precollege Summer STEM Camp The Luddy Precollege Summer STEM Camp is a residential program on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, run by the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. Over a week each summer (July 26 - August 1 in 2026), high school students explore how to use and design computational tools to solve problems in engineering, science, and society - working directly with Luddy faculty, staff, and students across the school's labs and makerspaces. ## What You'll Do - Learn to use the Python programming language to control a variety of systems - Sample topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robot building and competition, and 3D modeling - Interact with experts across the Luddy School and tour its research spaces - Team up with campers at your skill level - participants are grouped so beginners and experienced coders both progress - Live on the IU Bloomington campus for the full residential week ## Who Should Apply The camp is open to students entering grades 10-12. No experience is necessary to participate; participants are grouped according to skill level, and all students are given the support they need to succeed. Applications open in January each year, and the program fee is $950. ## Outcomes Campers leave with working Python skills, a broad vision for computing in the 21st century, and firsthand exposure to a top informatics school - useful both for choosing a CS-adjacent path and for building confidence before AP or dual-credit coursework.
