What Is Smith PreCollege Programs?
Smith's noncredit precollege programs take place in Northampton, Massachusetts, with separate 2027 writing, science, theatre and other sessions for students entering grades 9–12. Applications open December 10, 2026. International applications and tuition-assistance requests are due March 1, 2027; domestic entry closes May 1 at 11:59 PM ET or earlier if capacity is reached. Applicants submit transcripts, a teacher recommendation and writing responses. International English and travel-document rules apply, and travel is not funded. Confirm the chosen program's tuition, housing and conditions; the family does not award college credit. Historical 2026 tuition was USD 2,795 for College Readiness, USD 4,985 for most two-week courses and USD 9,970 for both SSEP sessions; Knowledge for Freedom was free. Historical deposits and application fees varied. These prices are not 2027 offers. The 2027 domestic deadline is May 1 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time or earlier capacity closure; priority and international or aid dates are separate.
