What Is UGA Young Dawgs Program?
Young Dawgs places high-achieving high-school juniors and seniors in unpaid internships across the University of Georgia and participating community sites. Public-, private-, home-school, and rising junior/senior applicants are eligible for the applicable academic-year or summer-science track. Placements span many fields and are matched to student interests when possible. Each option requires at least 110 internship hours and culminates in an end-of-term presentation.
Participation has no tuition fee, although placement costs such as parking may apply. The current FAQ uses a 3.8 minimum GPA. Spring and Summer 2026 are full; the main page says Fall 2026 applications began in January and gives no closing date. Students submit a cover letter and resume by email and normally receive a response within one month.
