What Is UT Southwestern STARS Summer Research Program?
UT Southwestern’s STARS programme offers an eight-week, nonresidential biomedical research experience with a faculty host and a participant stipend. The student route targets high-school juniors at least 16 by June 1 who are US citizens/nationals or otherwise eligible to work in the US and have no prior research experience. Its purpose emphasizes North Texas students; a Dallas-only exclusion is not established. Participants present their research, with no clinical or shadowing component. Summer 2027 applications are announced for November 16, 2026 through January 22, 2027; the form will be posted at opening.
