What Is Wake Forest University Summer Immersion?
Wake Forest's Summer Immersion Program is a portfolio of one-week residential institutes and self-paced online courses for current high-school students in grades 9-12. On-campus students explore one field—such as medicine, engineering, AI, business, law, writing, psychology or sports—through faculty/industry instruction, hands-on work, field visits and residential activities in Winston-Salem. Online courses are asynchronous and mentor-supported. The 2026 on-campus season ended July 24; the application opens annually on November 1 for the following summer, but 2027 dates and tuition are not yet posted.
Historical 2026 tuition was generally $3,500 for a Sunday-Friday residential institute and $1,595 for Online Immersion. The application fee was $60 and an accepted student paid a $550 nonrefundable deposit to secure an available institute. Housing, meals and program field-trip transport were included on campus; travel, airport shuttles, personal expenses and card fees were additional. Summer 2026 need-based aid was exhausted, and international students were ineligible for that aid.
