What Is Yale Pathways to Science Summer Scholars?
This is the selective summer intensive within Yale Pathways to Science, not the broader year-round Scholar cohort. More than 100 existing Pathways Scholars entering grades 10-12 spend two weeks on Yale's New Haven campus in small STEM workshops taught by Yale faculty, graduate students, and staff. Students entering grades 10-11 receive a schedule of four five-day workshops. Rising seniors take two regular workshops plus a ten-day College Essay workshop and may compete for one of up to 40 residential places in a Yale college. The program is free. For Summer 2026, invitations went by email to eligible current Pathways Scholars in January; the student application and teacher recommendation were due February 24. Materials included two short essays, one long essay, rising-senior college questions, and parent/legal-guardian signature forms. Orientation was July 5, workshops ran July 6-17, and the cycle is complete. Yale has not yet announced the Summer 2027 application date, workshops, or residential capacity.
