The **e-Yantra Robotics Competition (eYRC)** is a large-scale educational robotics contest organized by the e‑Yantra project of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It focuses on embedded systems, robotics, and automation, and uses real-world themed problem statements (such as smart cities, agriculture, or industry) to teach participants practical engineering skills. The competition is primarily designed for students enrolled in degree-granting programs in engineering, science, and related fields, and historically has focused on **college/university students** rather than high schoolers. Participants work in teams, learn through online resources, and complete progressively complex tasks using simulation tools and/or hardware kits provided or specified by e‑Yantra. While it provides invaluable experience in robotics, programming, and teamwork, high school students in grades 9–12 are generally **not the main target group** and may not be directly eligible under current rules unless they are part of an eligible higher-education program. Interested school students can still benefit from e‑Yantra’s open learning materials and other outreach initiatives.
