What Is UCSF High School Intern Program?
UCSF’s High School Intern Program is an eight-week biomedical-research internship for current juniors at SFUSD high schools or San Francisco public charter schools, with no exceptions to that school requirement. Interns complete an original project with a UCSF scientist mentor and participate in research communication and college counseling. The published commitment is 35 hours per week. SEP programs are free of charge; the completed 2026 internship described a $4,500 completion payment. A 2027 interest form is available, but the new application dates and stipend are not announced.
