What Is Applied Research Innovations in Science?

ARISE is NYU Tandon's free, selective ten-week research program for full-time New York City residents who attend New York City schools and will be juniors or seniors in the following school year. It is not a nationwide seven-week camp.

The completed 2026 program ran June 1-August 14. Four weeks of remote safety, research-skills and college-writing workshops preceded six weeks of in-person lab work beginning July 6. Students worked with NYU faculty and research mentors, accumulated about 150 lab hours, developed abstracts and posters, practiced public speaking and presented at an NYU colloquium and an American Museum of Natural History symposium. College-application workshops and alumni or continued-research connections were also offered.
