What Is Key Club International?
Key Club International is an active, student-led service and leadership organization for high-school students. Members join through a local school club, plan service and fundraising projects, elect student officers, attend club meetings and may participate in district or international leadership events. Adult faculty, Kiwanis and district advisors provide oversight and youth protection support without replacing student governance.
The member expectation is at least 50 hours of combined service to home, school and community each year. There is no universal application deadline or selective global application. A student joins according to the local club's calendar and school rules. If no club exists, students can organize one with an approved sponsor, faculty or staff advisor, at least 11 members, a roster, charter petition and funding for dues.
