What Is National Charity League Core Program and NCL?
NCL is a structured mother-daughter program built around community service, leadership development, cultural enrichment, and relationship building. Daughters ('Ticktockers') participate in grades 7-12 with their mothers or guardians ('Patronesses'), normally through a local chapter. Members serve chapter-selected charities, attend meetings and cultural programs, take officer or assigned roles, track philanthropy/leadership participation, and help run a volunteer organization. Exact hours, dues, meetings, jobs, geography, admission, and activities are set locally.
Entry happens before or early in the program: NCL advises applying during sixth grade, and accepts sixth-, seventh-, or eighth-grade applicants when chapter space permits. The national drive runs January 15-March 1 each year, but local capacity can close classes. NCL Everywhere is a virtual/local alternative for daughters entering grades 7-10: six meetings, a Virtual Tea/Senior Recognition, 10 leadership hours, 15 philanthropy hours, and USD 150 annual dues per person.
