# National Charity League National Charity League, Inc. is a national nonprofit that organizes mothers and daughters into local chapters for a structured six-year commitment spanning grades 7 through 12. The daughter members, called Ticktockers, are not casual volunteers: they are grouped into classes by high school graduation year, elect and hold offices within their class, run their own meetings under parliamentary procedure, and complete philanthropy hours with chapter-selected nonprofits every year. NCL reports 295+ chapters in 32 states and close to three million volunteer hours annually across more than 6,000 charities. ## What You'll Do - Volunteer alongside your mother at the local nonprofits your chapter has chosen, reflecting your own community's needs - Advance through NCL's three pillars each year: Community Service, Leadership Development, and Cultural Enrichment - Hold a job within your grade-level class - every Ticktocker does - with support from Grade Level Advisors - Learn parliamentary procedure and run class meetings yourself ## Who Should Apply Girls and their mothers in a community with an NCL chapter. Membership runs grades 7-12, and prospective members are advised to apply during the daughter's 6th grade year. The national membership drive opens each January 15 and closes March 1. Prospects who do not know a current member can submit the Membership Inquiry Form; where no chapter exists, families can apply to start one. Chapter dues vary, so no national cost is published. ## Outcomes Ticktockers finish high school with six years of documented, sustained service with the same cohort, elected leadership experience, and a chapter-level record of philanthropy hours that colleges and scholarship committees can verify.
