What Is Alpha Leo Clubs?
Alpha Leo clubs are Lions International's youth service clubs for ages 12-18. School-based and community-based clubs plan local service projects, elect student officers, and build leadership, teamwork, and community connections with support from a sponsoring Lions club and Leo advisor. Lions reports a worldwide network of more than 200,000 Leos in over 7,600 clubs across more than 150 countries.
Students can use the club locator or contact local Lions representatives about an existing club. Forming a new club requires a sponsoring Lions club, a formation meeting, adoption of the Leo constitution and bylaws, elected officers, and an organization report; certification generally takes four to six weeks. Lions charges no international Leo membership fee, although individual clubs may set local dues. Participation and meeting schedules are local and rolling.
