What Is Experiences in Research (EinR)?
Berkeley Lab's Experiences in Research is a paid internship for Northern California high-school students in grades 10-12 with independent-work experience. The 2026 application requires age 16 by June 16, while other page text retains an older age date; distance preferences also differ between pages. The completed 2026 program ran June 15-July 24, approximately 30-35 hours weekly, with hybrid or virtual projects and $500 weekly pay. Applications closed March 22,2026 and recommendations March 29. Applicants rank three projects and submit short answers and a recommendation; contacting project mentors directly causes disqualification. Oakland Unified students also complete the ECCCO application. 2027 terms are not yet confirmed.
