What Is UC Davis Young Scholars Program?
UC Davis YSP is a selective six-week residential program for about 40 high-achieving rising juniors and seniors to conduct original research in biological, agricultural, environmental and natural sciences. Participants work with researchers in UC Davis laboratories, attend lectures, join scientific field trips, live on campus and earn five units of university Group Study credit. The program reports an approximate 10-15% acceptance rate.
The 2026 program ran June 21-August 1 and is complete; no 2027 application, dates or fee have been posted. The current application page required applicants to be rising juniors or seniors, at least 16 on the first day but not 18 before the last, and permanent U.S. residents residing and attending school in the United States. That specific current rule controls over the FAQ's stale reference to international applicants.
