What Is Math Circles of Chicago — Math Circles?
Math Circles of Chicago brings grades 3-12 students together with skilled teachers and mentors to explore creative, challenging mathematics through puzzles, games, discussion, and collaborative problem-solving. Its citywide Hubs are open regardless of school or whether a student lives inside Chicago; school-based circles are limited to students at the host school.
The Fall 2026 Hub lottery is open August 18-30. Families create an account and rank every location they would accept. Chicago public-school students receive placement priority; other applicants share remaining lottery chances. After lottery placement, available seats and waitlists are handled first come, first served. Returning fall/winter students may bypass the lottery when they meet the published prior-attendance rule.
