What Is San Diego Math Circle?
San Diego Math Circle offers mathematical problem-solving enrichment for students in grades 5–12, with much activity at UC San Diego and some online activities. The official FAQ announces new-student applications for the 2026–27 season. Capacity is limited; no application cutoff or unlimited rolling intake is stated.
Participation has no fee and voluntary donations support the programme. Students submit an application and a combined UCSD/SDMC waiver. There is no quantitative qualifying examination. Students are expected to participate substantially, while occasional absences are allowed; competitions are optional. A fourth-grade Computer Science exception is considered case by case and is not a general math-circle eligibility rule.
