What Is Minnesota Business Venture?
BestPrep's MBV is a weeklong residential business and career camp. Students join companies of 12-16 led by a returning-student CEO and a business professional, invent a product, create a business plan, and present a Shark Tank-style pitch. Speakers and workshops cover marketing, personal finance, entrepreneurship, mock interviews, college admissions, financial aid, leadership, technology, teamwork, and career skills.
The completed 2026 sessions housed 150-200 students at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. The $300 early or $400 standard fee included housing, meals, and programming, and need-based help was available. BestPrep says 2027 registration will open in December 2026, but dates, price, deadline, and geographic eligibility are not yet posted. The main page describes U.S.-wide eligibility while the 2026 FAQ limited participation to Minnesota students, so prospective out-of-state students must confirm the 2027 rule.
