# Washington Business Week Washington Business Week (WBW) is a long-running nonprofit summer program in which high school students step into executive roles - CEO, CFO, marketing, operations - inside a simulated company, run it for the week against competing teams, and pitch to a panel of investors. Sessions are hosted on Washington college campuses in residential and day formats. ## What You'll Do - Join a company team and take an executive role for the week - Run a computer-based business simulation, making pricing, production and staffing decisions each round - Work with a volunteer company adviser drawn from Washington employers - Build and deliver an investor pitch and a final presentation - Choose a pathway: Business, Healthcare or an Advanced track for returning students ## Who Should Apply High school students, including students entering high school that summer and recent graduates. Summer 2026 ran three sessions: University of Puget Sound in Tacoma (June 21-26, residential), Eastern Washington University in Cheney (July 12-17, residential) and Renton Technical College (July 27-31, day camp). Students enroll directly rather than through a school nomination. ## Outcomes Tuition ranges from about $600 to $1,350 depending on session and format - $825 for the 2026 day camp, $1,150-$1,350 for residential sessions - and the organization states that most students receive scholarships, which are available for all programs. Participants leave with a week of applied business decision-making, a presentation credential, and contacts among Washington employers and campus hosts.
