What Is MITES Pre-College STEM Programs?
The former MIT Office of Engineering Outreach Programs is now MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES). It is an umbrella for three different programs, not one generic grades 9-12 campus experience.
All three require U.S. citizenship or current permanent residency and use competitive, holistic selection. MITES strongly encourages applications from students underserved or underrepresented in STEM, first-generation college students, and students without family STEM-degree networks, while considering every applicant who meets the eligibility rules.
