# ACE Mentor Program The ACE Mentor Program of America, founded in 1994, is the design and construction industry's flagship high school mentorship program, reaching thousands of students each year through affiliates across the country. Teams of students are organized to emulate real design firms and guided by volunteer mentors - practicing architects, engineers, and construction managers - through a full mock design project at no cost to students. ## What You'll Do - Meet after school (typically weekly or biweekly, about 4-6 pm, for around 15 sessions) with a team led by industry mentors - Learn industry fundamentals, design software, and the roles of architects, engineers, and construction managers - Tour active construction sites and visit mentors' offices - Develop a mock design project of your team's choosing and present it in May to families, mentors, and industry leaders - Access possible summer internships and camp opportunities through mentor connections ## Who Should Apply High school students in grades 9-12 - no experience, grades, essays, or recommendation letters required. Each local affiliate sets its own registration calendar, with most teams forming in early fall; find your affiliate through the national program locator. ## Outcomes Students finish with a presented design project, professional mentors in architecture, construction, and engineering, and eligibility for ACE scholarships: both the national organization and affiliates award college and trade-school scholarships to ACE graduates pursuing design and construction careers.
