What Is PPPL High School Internship Program?

The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory's official K-12 page states plainly that the High School Internship Program was not offered for summer 2026. As of August 20, PPPL has not announced a 2027 reopening, application, eligibility rules, deadline, dates, projects, capacity, schedule, stipend, cost, or application materials. The accurate current status is therefore paused with no open portal, not an evergreen summer internship.

PPPL's 2026 summer internship portfolio consisted of SULI for undergraduates, CCI for community-college students, the Visiting Faculty Program, and an Operations Internship Program for college students or recent graduates. Those have separate federal or employment eligibility and are not high-school opportunities. PPPL also operated a 15-student Plasma Pathways Summer School in 2026 with six named New Jersey partner schools; that was a distinct school-partnership program, not a public revival of the High School Internship Program.
