# GER2I Summer Residential Program For over 45 years, Purdue University's Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute (GER2I) has run Summer Residential camps that bring academically, creatively, and artistically talented students to the West Lafayette campus. High schoolers join the PULSAR track (grades 9-12), living in Purdue residence halls while taking challenging small-group courses; in 2026 the camps ran June 28 - July 25, with two-week PULSAR sessions June 28 - July 11 and July 12 - 25. ## What You'll Do - Take rigorous, fast-paced courses in small, interactive classes taught on a Big Ten campus - Live the college experience in Purdue residence halls with peers from around the world - Join class-related field trips — past cohorts visited museums and zoos in Chicago and Indianapolis - Build friendships through evening recreation, team challenges, and high-ropes courses ## Who Should Apply Gifted, creative, and high-ability students in grades 9-12 (younger students attend the parallel COMET and STAR tracks). New applicants submit an essay or alternative media on their motivation and course interests, plus a $100 application fee. The residential fee is $1,495 per session ($1,250 commuter), covering room and board, tuition, materials, field trips, and limited medical insurance; partial need-based scholarships are first-come, first-served. ## Outcomes Students complete advanced coursework beyond the typical high school curriculum, experience residential college life early, and join an international peer network through one of the longest-running university gifted programs in the country.
