What Is High School Summer Research Experience?
Roswell Park's SURE-CAN is a six-week, full-time commuter research program for local high-school juniors. The published summer 2027 schedule is June 28-August 6. Students undertake mentored wet- or dry-laboratory research, lectures and professional development, then present a technical abstract and scientific poster.
Applicants must be current juniors in the graduating class of 2028, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and both permanent residents of and enrolled in school districts in Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus or Chautauqua County. Enrollment and residence are verified. The program is commuter-only.
