Its research fellowships require college or medical-school enrollment. For Rochester high-school students, the verified local pathway is RISE for Youth, a collaboration between Mayo Clinic and the Rochester NAACP branch.

RISE combines hands-on classroom and exploratory activities, healthcare and other career exposure, academic preparation, leadership and professional development, and mentorship from Mayo Clinic and community professionals.
