What Is Summit Research Scholars (SRS)?
Summit Research Scholars is a paid, intensive three-week virtual bootcamp for students in grades 8-12 at application, including those entering first-year college the following fall. Its two coordinated courses cover research foundations and methodology plus technical and data fundamentals. Students learn research design, statistics, Python and data science, scientific writing and presentation, and ways to pursue later research opportunities.
The final Research Capstone is an original research proposal plus a personalized action plan—not a completed journal publication or a promise of placement in a lab. The 2026 session ran July 6-24 and included more than 80 hours of live instruction, discussion sections and office hours. Tuition was $2,900, with need-based aid up to full tuition.
