# Summer Scrubs Summer Scrubs is the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix's summer camp series for high school students exploring medicine. On the downtown Phoenix Biomedical Campus, students spend a week learning directly from medical doctors through professional lectures and hands-on lab experiences, sampling the specialties and daily realities of physician life. ## What You'll Do - Explore several physician specialties by learning from various medical doctors - Take part in hands-on lab experiences and clinical-skills activities on a medical school campus - Choose the track for your grade: the Explore Medicine Program for current 11th graders (residential May 31 - June 6 or day camp June 8-12 in 2026) or the Healthcare Team program for current 9th-10th graders (June 15-18 in 2026) - Head home with scrubs, a program shirt, and new peers aiming at health careers ## Who Should Apply Current 9th-11th graders interested in medicine and the healthcare team. Applications for the 2026 camps ran December 1, 2025 - March 1, 2026, and typically reopen in December. The residential camp costs $500 including room, board, meals, and activities; day camps run $250-$300 with meals included. Full and partial need-based scholarships are available. ## Outcomes Participants leave with early exposure to a real medical school, contact with practicing physicians across specialties, and a clearer sense of the path from high school to health professions - plus a completed selective program from a state flagship's medical campus.
