What Is Virginia House of Delegates Page Program?
The House Page Program appoints Virginia residents who will be 13 or 14 on the first day of session to work as nonpartisan staff of the House Clerk's Office. The 2027 application is open through October 16, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. Applicants need good academic standing, cooperation from their school, authorizations from school officials, and an endorsement from their House delegate. The Speaker selects from fully completed applications, seeking geographic balance across the Commonwealth.
Pages serve the seven-week 2027 General Assembly session in Richmond, working approximately 40 hours a week. They deliver documents, assist delegates and Clerk's Office staff, support committees and floor sessions, and rotate among assignments. A civics and leadership curriculum covers the legislative process, state government, public speaking, time and money management, civility, professional etiquette and community service, culminating in a Page Debate in the House Chamber.
