What Is Yale Pathways to Science?
Yale Pathways to Science is a free, year-round Scholar cohort and STEM opportunity network, not one fixed camp. Students entering grades 6-12 in New Haven, West Haven, and Orange/Amity public schools first need a nomination from a math or science teacher, counselor, or administrator. Yale sends nomination information to district partners in spring; nominated students apply in June, receive decisions in late August, and remain Scholars through high-school graduation while enrolled in an eligible school. Scholars then choose among day-long STEM events, hands-on workshops, lab tours, lab-skills training, program series, and selective research opportunities rather than following one mandatory schedule. Yale says all Scholar opportunities are offered at no cost. The 2026 admission cycle is over; Yale's August 2026 guidance tells eligible students to seek a nomination in April 2027, but no exact 2027 deadline is published. The separate two-week Pathways Summer Scholars program has its own record and should not be merged into this one.
