What Is State Pre-College Enrichment Program (S-PREP)?
S-PREP is a free, in-person academic enrichment and college-preparation program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center for eligible New York State students in grades 7-12 who are interested in medicine or related STEM fields. The 2026-27 academic-year cohort is currently accepting applications through September 30, 2026; the public page gives no deadline time or timezone, so applicants should not wait until the final day. Classes run Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from November through May.
Course offerings can include anatomy, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry, brain and cognitive science, Ready for PreMed, physics, psychology, algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, statistics, and PSAT/SAT preparation. Students also receive career and college workshops, academic or college counseling, field trips, and college tours. The separate summer session follows its own dates and schedule.
