Teen Leadership Corps

# Teen Leadership Corps Cradles to Crayons provides children living in low-income and homeless situations with the clothing, shoes, books, and school supplies they need. Its Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) is the selective cohort program inside the organization's Giving Corps: rather than logging drop-in volunteer shifts, TLC students are accepted into a cohort, trained, and then act as ambassadors who organize their own community drives and lead service in the Giving Factory warehouse. ## What You'll Do - Complete a required orientation and leadership development workshop before starting service - Design and run your own collection drive or community organizing project, then give a wrap-up presentation on your project's outcomes - Volunteer in the Giving Factory sorting, inspecting, and packaging clothing, shoes, books, and school supplies into KidPacks - Represent Cradles to Crayons as a teen ambassador to your school and community ## Who Should Apply Middle and high school students in the Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago regions; the exact grade band varies by site (Boston accepts middle and high school students, Chicago runs grades 9-12, Philadelphia's school-year cohort takes grades 10-12). Boston runs a summer session with roughly 15-25 hours of commitment; Philadelphia's year-long cohort requires a minimum of 24 Giving Factory hours plus mandatory orientation and multi-day training. ## Outcomes Accepted teens finish with a documented leadership role in a national children's charity, a self-designed and completed service project, verified service hours, and experience presenting outcomes to staff and peers.
