What Is Elon Academy?
Elon Academy is a selective, no-cost college-access and success program for academically promising ninth graders who live in Alamance County or attend an Alamance-Burlington School System school and are first-generation college students and/or demonstrate financial need.
The high-school phase combines three intensive residential Summer Academies before grades 10, 11, and 12 with monthly Saturday Academy sessions. Scholars study reading, writing, speaking, critical thinking, organization, leadership, service, college planning, and wellness; participate in college visits and co-curricular experiences; and may use academic coaching and counseling support. A transition retreat follows graduation, and college-success support continues through college.
