What Is College Readiness Scholars Institute (CRSI)?
The University of Delaware College Readiness Scholars Institute is a free college-preparation programme for Delaware residents entering grades 9–12. Applicants need a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and must be first-generation college students in their immediate family or qualify as low income. Selection considers academic potential and maturity. Summer participation is full time, so students cannot combine it with jobs, sports or other outside activities.
The published 2027 application is open. April 15 is the priority application date and May 1 the priority enrolment-forms date; neither is described as a final cutoff. The residential session runs June 21–July 2 for grades 11–12 and June 28–July 2 for grades 9–10. Required orientation takes place in May or early June. Applicants submit a recommendation form, transcript and 30–60-second video essay after the application. Confirm the current forms and your cohort’s requirements with UD.
