# Girl Security National Fellows Program The National Fellows Program is a 12-week virtual program from Girl Security, a nonpartisan nonprofit that prepares girls, women, and gender minorities for national security pathways. Fellows explore the field - from cybersecurity and intelligence to climate security and emerging technology - through a mix of asynchronous coursework and live sessions with practitioners, building both subject knowledge and workforce skills. ## What You'll Do - Work through asynchronous modules paired with live, synchronous workshop sessions in a 100% virtual format - Learn directly from national security practitioners and mentors across government, industry, and research - Build professional skills - writing, briefing, networking - aimed at security careers - Commit roughly 1.5-2 hours weekly across the 12-week fall term, finishing with a certificate of completion and access to a suite of benefits ## Who Should Apply Students in 11th grade through two years post-high school; select highly motivated 10th graders are also considered. The program is designed for those curious about national security in its broadest sense - no prior exposure required. The Fall 2026 cohort runs September through December 2026, and applications open August 31, 2026. ## Outcomes Fellows finish with a certificate of completion, all program materials, a practitioner network, and follow-on opportunities through Girl Security's community - one of the only structured national security on-ramps that exists for high school students.
