# GoGetMath@ICERM GoGetMath@ICERM - the successor to ICERM's long-running GirlsGetMath camp - is "a five-day non-residential mathematics program" at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics on the Brown University campus. It is deliberately low-barrier: tuition is $100, full financial aid is available, and daily lunch is included, so cost is not the reason a local student misses out on a week inside a national mathematics research institute. The 2026 edition ran August 10-14 and was organized by Brown faculty Amalia Culiuc and Anarina Murillo. ## What You'll Do - Spend five full days on hands-on mathematics topics that go well beyond the school syllabus - Work in small groups with Brown graduate students and faculty mentors - Use computation as an experimental tool alongside pencil-and-paper mathematics - Meet women and other mathematicians working at ICERM and hear how research careers actually start ## Who Should Apply Students who "must be in the 10th or 11th grade in the fall" of the program year and who "live in or near the greater Providence, RI area." The camp is open to high schoolers regardless of gender. No prior competition or proof experience is required - the program is designed to widen the pool of students who see themselves in mathematics. ## Outcomes Participants leave with exposure to research-level mathematical ideas, a peer cohort in the Providence area, and a direct connection to a National Science Foundation mathematics institute - a strong foundation for later summer research programs and university applications.
