Week of Hope

# Week of Hope Week of Hope is the community service arm of Group Mission Trips, a division of the nonprofit Group Cares. Instead of dropping volunteers into one-off projects, Week of Hope places small crews with local ministries and nonprofits for an entire week, so participants build real relationships with the residents and staff they serve. Camps host up to 100 participants, typically housed at a local church that Group staff convert into a week-long base. ## What You'll Do - Serve at project sites from roughly 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with the same crew, usually at one or two organizations for the whole week - Work with local residents at food programs, shelters, senior and disability services, children's day camps, and neighborhood cleanup projects - Take on hospitality shifts - crews prepare, cook, serve, and clean up breakfast and dinner for the whole camp - Join evening programming and crew devotions built around the year's Bible-based theme ## Who Should Apply Youth groups registering as a group. Jr/Sr High trips require participants to be at least 11 years old or entering 6th grade in the fall of the trip year; Sr High trips require at least 14 years old or entering 9th grade. Groups must bring one adult age 21 or older for every five participants under 21, with background checks completed by the sending church. ## Outcomes Participants finish with a full week of sustained service with one community partner, practical teamwork and hospitality experience, and documented service hours. Group Mission Trips runs dozens of camps each summer across the United States, so groups can choose a location and week that fits.
