What Is ISTA Student Theatre & Arts Festivals?
ISTA Global Arts Learning does not run an International Student Theatre Olympiad. Its official student offering is a rotating calendar of non-competitive Theatre and Arts Festivals, plus separate TAPS, FRAME and IB events. The legacy olympiad title, USD 2,000 flat cost and U.S.-based competition framing are inaccurate.
ISTA festivals bring students from different schools and backgrounds into small, artist-led ensembles. Participants explore a local story and global theme, experiment with theatre, movement, music or multimedia, and co-create original work for a final sharing. The official description explicitly removes the pressure of competition or perfection: there are no olympiad rankings, elimination rounds or universal medals.
