What Is Princeton Summer Journalism Program (PSJP)?
PSJP selects full-time high-school juniors from limited-income backgrounds for a free year-long journalism and college-preparation experience. The 2027 cycle begins with June college-admissions classes, adds early-July online journalism instruction and weekly reporting, then culminates in a 10-day Princeton residential intensive from late July into early August. Students report real events, visit news organizations, conduct investigations, produce digital work, and publish The Princeton Summer Journal. Personal college advising continues through senior year.
The current 2027 Round 1 closes on the last Monday in January: January 25, 2027. This date follows the provider’s current published rule; it is not projected from an earlier cycle. No closing clock or timezone is printed, and a mid-November opening is approximate. Current full-time juniors must meet US permanent-address, college-intention, GPA 3.5 and limited-income requirements, including the published visa/overseas exclusions.
