What Is The Schools Challenge Clay Shooting?
The Schools Challenge is a UK youth clay-target shooting program operated with The Oxford Gun Company. It is not an academic quiz competition. Its next published opportunity is the 2026 Browning/The Schools Challenge Winter Series: four 50-Sporting events at the Oakley shooting ground on October 10, October 24, November 7, and November 21. Young people age 21 and under in full-time education can enter as individuals or in five-person school teams. No entry form or pre-booking is required.
Participants compete in age/team categories and can win daily prizes; shooting at least three of the four Winter events creates eligibility for the overall Browning shotgun prize. The sport has significant safety and access requirements: eye and hearing protection, compliant ammunition, safe firearm handling, at least GBP 3 million third-party liability insurance, appropriate clothing/footwear, and a responsible adult for younger categories. Current Winter Series entry, cartridge, equipment, instruction, insurance, travel, and licensing costs are not published.
